Kinesiology

What it is and how it can help you.

What is Kinesiology?

At the heart of the therapy is muscle testing, this is primarily using arms and legs but tests can also be done with

the head, neck, shoulders and feet. Through testing each muscle it assesses the quality of the muscle movement and indicates the balance of the associated organ meridian that each muscle is linked too.

Kinesiology was created in 1964 by chiropractor Dr George Goodheart, he was interested by the consistent lack of relief his patients were feeling after their chiropractic sessions. Amazingly his research exposed the links between the lymphatic system, the muscles, the acupuncture meridians, and reflexes which changed how the muscle responded.

Since the 1960’s kinesiology has become an extremely popular holistic treatment with the number of practitioners growing world-wide. There is a huge up-lift in Australia and America as the therapy is used by celebrities such as Eva Longoria and Kourtney Kardashian-Barker. I'm very excited to be a part of the brilliant and ever-growing community of kinesiologists around the UK, bringing an incredible therapy to the general public, offering personalised guidance and support into any individuals health and well-being.

Functional Kinesiology

My practice is in Functional kinesiology, this is the most recent and up-to-date method of kinesiology. It combines the traditional practices alongside the latest nutritional and wellbeing science.

All functional kinesiologists work to balance a client's body using the BEES -

Biochemical,

Electrical,

Emotional

and Structural corrections.

With the world changing so rapidly it's no wondered that as a species we're in constant struggle with illness, battling both mentally and physically. The benefits of Functional Kinesiology are that they work with this rapidly-moving world we're living in and it can uncover the imbalances that we are now experiencing more than ever.

What happens in a full Kinesiology session

These sessions can take anything from 60-90 minutes. When the client laying comfortably on the bed, I take it in turns to engage different muscles around the body working with your arms, legs, neck and core.

These movements are small and I am not testing the streghth of the muscle but instead seeing if  your organ maridian is balanced meaning that it's comfortable and happy doing its job. If a muscle shows up as imbalanced then I will mark it down on my chart to discuss with the client and to ensure that it's rebalanced by the end of the session.

If a muscle / organ maridian shows up imbalanced this is nothing to be alarmed about it doesn't mean that your physical organ is in trouble but it gives you a direction into where your body is needing extra support and it allows us to discuss why it might be imbalanced and what you can do in order to keep it aligned and balanced for longer.

After the session once a client is rebalanced they will leave feeling:

  • Light

  • Relaxed

  • Often have a good night sleep

  • Empowered
